Bio
Jared Hunter is a law clerk with experience in capital markets, corporate governance, and complex commercial litigation. He earned his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he served in leadership roles with the Black Law Students Association and OutLaw, and was a semifinalist in the Moot Court Client Counseling Competition. He also holds a B.S. in Political Science and African American Studies from The University of Alabama.
Jared most recently served as an Associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in New York, where he worked on multi-million and billion-dollar commercial mortgage-backed securities transactions as part of the Capital Markets team. In this role, he drafted operative documents and deal opinions, coordinated with deal parties, tracked comments across transactions, and supported leanly staffed deal teams.
Prior to moving to New York, Jared gained experience across corporate and litigation practice settings. As a Research Assistant, he contributed to scholarship focused on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and emerging legal protections for virtual property. As a Summer Associate in Wilmington, DE, he worked directly with partners on corporate governance issues, fiduciary duties, discovery, deposition preparation, and motion practice in matters involving Delaware corporate law. He also spent three years at King & Spalding LLP as a Legal Practice Assistant on the Special Matters & Internal Investigations team, supporting attorneys on internal investigations, witness interviews, complaint reviews, and firm-wide compliance initiatives.
Jared’s leadership extends beyond the legal field. As the 105th President of the Student Government Association at The University of Alabama, he served as the student representative to the Board of Trustees, spearheaded initiatives to expand mental health resources, raised more than 8,000 donated meals for students in need, and helped strengthen collaboration among campus organizations.
Jared is a member of numerous academic and leadership honor societies, including JASONS Senior Men’s Honorary, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the Anderson Society.
