Bio
Anika Vuiya is a Law Clerk at Liberty and Freedom Legal Group, where she draws upon a multifaceted background in human rights, civil rights law, political science, and complex litigation. Prior to joining Liberty and Freedom, she shared her academic expertise as an adjunct professor of political science. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Comparative Politics from New York University and earned her J.D. from CUNY School of Law.
During law school, Anika’s legal training was marked by hands-on advocacy and litigation experience. She served as a Student Attorney in the Community Law Enforcement Accountability and Responsibility (CLEAR) clinic, providing direct support to Muslim and other client communities navigating encounters with local, state, and federal government agencies. She was also a Legal Intern at Main Street Legal Services, representing low-income clients in public benefits hearings and contributing to state-level policy reform efforts. She further honed her litigation skills as a Litigation Fellow at Hecht Partners LLP, where she assisted in complex cases involving human rights abuses and intellectual property disputes.
Before law school, Anika worked with two Tel Aviv-based human rights organizations – Kav LaOved, a labor rights nonprofit, and Gisha, a legal advocacy center focused on freedom of movement.
Having recently passed the July 2025 New York Bar Exam, Anika is now completing the final steps for admission to practice in New York.
